If you are interested, please register your interest, by writing a short note including your address, home, work and mobile telephone numbers to Dental Nurse Training? Solutions! Glenmore, Old Bracknell Lane West, Bracknell, Berkshire. RG21 7AE. When the next course runs, we will get in touch with you.
10 lectures.
All students must be qualified DNs as the NEBDN only allow qualified DNs to take the Examination. Only qualified DNs who are registered with the GDC are allowed to take X-rays of patients during this course. However, you can take the course, do the homework and thus learn the academic knowledge required if you are unqualified. You can then complete the practical aspects [taking X-rays] when you do become qualified.

The course covers
- the Curriculum in Dental Radiography approved by the Council of the British Society of Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology in Sept 2004 to ensure compliance with the Ionising Radiation [Medical Exposure] Regulations 2000
- enables qualified DNs to take the NEBDN Radiography examination
The exam can be taken in the first Sat of Dec or June & consists of a negatively–marked multiple choice question paper. The NEBDN requires a Record of Clinical Experience which provides the portfolio of evidence necessary for completion of the Certificate.
50 radiographs must be taken to include 10 DPT, 10pairs of BW, 20 PA – paralleling technique.
The remainder will be largely dependent upon the practice but the NEBDN states that ideally they should include bisected angle technique periapicals, occlusal views, oblique laterals and cephalometric lateral skull views.
A dentist within your practice must agree, in writing, to supervise the DN through the Record of Experience.
Some DNs may be limited by the nature of the practice in which they work, so the tutors & students will make local arrangements to facilitate obtaining the necessary practical experience. Because an understanding of all techniques is required for the examination, theoretical instruction in all techniques will be given
Tutors will demonstrate a selection of film packet holders [Rinn, Hawes Neos, Emmenix etc] and the student will need suitable holders for their clinical experience in their practice
Price : £375
