Dental Practice Management – An Introduction
Due to ill health, this is currently not running.
This course prepares persons to take on more management work, thus freeing up dentists and hygienists.
Tutors emphasise that all management staff should support:
- policies/protocols of the employer and the dentists/hygienists to encourage the smooth running of the practice
- and create incentives to:
- increase practice profits
- maintain and improve standards of delivery of patient oral healthcare
Topics covered include CQC, H & S, Employment law/interviewing, induction of new staff, dealing with difficult people, planning for success, communications/administration, management of people, Clinical Governance, CPD/training/Personal Development Plans, finances/profits/ reducing costs, suppliers/stock /equipment.
You do not have to be qualified to come onto this course, but you MUST be experienced, either working in the surgery or on reception for a minimum of 3 years. Persons who are inexperienced will have difficulty in understanding certain areas of the course.
We will also take onto the Course, persons who are experienced managers in other fields and would like to take up Dental Practice Management as a career. These persons will be guided by the tutors as to their suitability for the Course, and the Course’s suitability for them! So please get in touch if this applies to you!
After satisfactorily completing the course, students will be awarded certificates of attendance.
These certificates can be displayed at your practice.
